From Asheville, Knoxville, Tennessee,
Kentucky and the Ohio Valley Region
(Allow one hour from Asheville):
Take I-40 to I-26 at Asehville and proceed East on I-265 toward
Hendersonville to Exit 49-A. Follow US Hwy. 64/74A and go East
through Lake Lure (you will drive a few miles past the Municipal
Golf Course). Turn Left onto Bill's Creek Road at the sign
for Fairfield Mountains. Go 2 miles on Bill's Creek Road and
turn Left onto Buffalo Creek Road. Proceed .75 mile to Lake
Lure Resort Realty on Left.
From Hickory, Winston-Salem, Greenboro, Raleigh/Durham, Virginia
and Northeast
(Allow 30 mintes from I-40):
Note: This route follows secondary
roads which are not clearly marked.
Take Sugar Hill Road exit (Exit 81). Turn onto Sugar Hill Road
and proceed south, following signs for Lake Lure. When there
are red fences on both sides of the road, Sugar Hill veers
to the Right at the end of the red fences and becomes Road
1001. Proceed 6.8 miles on Sugar Hill, which eventually becomes
Cove Road. Turn Right onto Bill's Creek Road (Road #1008--look
for the small #1008 sign on the Left side of the road). Drive
5.5 miles and turn Right onto Buffalo Creek Road (Dalton's
Country Store will be on your Left). Proceed .75 mile to Lake
Lure Resort Realty on Left.
From Charlotte (Allow 2 hours from Charlotte):
Take I-85 South to the Kings Mountain exit and proceed on Hwy.
74 past Shelby and Forest City. Take Exit 167, turn Right and
proceed 12 miles on Hwy. 9 NOrth until the road dead ends at
Lake Lure. Turn Right onto US Hwy. 64/74A, proceed 4 miles
and turn Left onto Bill's Creek Road. Go 2 miles on Bill's
Creek Road and turn Left onto Buffalo Creek Road. Proceed .75
mile to Lake Lure Resort Realty on Left.
From South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and points South (Allow
25 min. from I-26):
From I-26 West, take the first exit after the North Carolina
Welcome Center (Exit 67). Go Right onto Hwy. 108 East and proceed
6 miles to Hwy. 9. Turn Left onto Hwy. 9 and go 9 miles until
the road dead ends at Lake Lure. Turn Right onto US Hwy. 64/74A,
proceed 4 miles and turn Left onto Bill's Creek Road. Go 2
miles on Bill's Creek Road and turn Left onto Buffalo Creek
Road. Proceed .75 mile to Lake Lure Resort Realty on Left. |
